Uniting Disabled Individuals Inc, is a mission-driven, non-profit advocacy organization incorporated in New York State in March 1999 and is a 501 (c) 3 tax exemption run by and for people with disabilities.

Our mission is to promote self-realization through empowerment and mutual respect.

Anne Scavotto

President

Anne has served on the Board of Directors since June 2020. She held the position as Recording Secretary from October 2020 to August 2021 and continues to serve as Chairperson of the Governance/Personnel Committee. Anne is a retired Special Education teacher with NYC DOE. She is currently a licensed financial professional.

Milton Malpica

Secretary

Milton has served on the Board of Directors since March 2001. He has held the position of Secretary from 2002-2005 and Vice President from 2007-2011. He served as Chairperson for the Governance/Personnel Committee from 2017-2020. Milton currently serves on the Governance/ Personnel Committee and Public Policy Committee. He is the parent of a young adult male that has been diagnosed with Autism. Milton retired as an Office Property manager with Queens Hospital Center.

Iris Garcia

Board member

Iris has served on the Board of Directors since December 2022. She is the proud mother of two children, her youngest has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome. Iris volunteers much of her time within the low income, domestic violence Hispanic community providing support and assistance.
